El mapa del delito de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires en la prevención comunitaria: análisis de la legislación con un enfoque SIG
Abstract
Geographic information systems (GIS) allow the analysis of data and information on the spatial-temporal dimension
of crime and its results can be represented through the crime map: its publication can constitute a tool for
citizen participation for crime prevention. This article addresses theoretical and practical issues for this tool to be
effective in terms of community crime prevention and analyzes whether the case of the crime map of the Autonomous
City of Buenos Aires published works as a participatory map.
